Meet Charles
Charles came to Home of Hope after the death of his father left his mother struggling to care for him and his six siblings. Home of Hope staff had already been providing care for Charles during community visits, and when his mother could no longer meet his complex needs, he was welcomed into the Home of Hope family.
Charles has flourished since arriving at Home of Hope. He is bright, outgoing, and full of personality. He loves playing with the other children and is always looking for ways to make them laugh. When he first arrived, he had multiple wounds and pressure sores, but thanks to improved nutrition and dedicated nursing and nanny care, his wounds have completely healed.
Charles has spina bifida and requires catheterization, and the staff are helping him learn to perform this independently. He also attends regular appointments at Cure Hospital to monitor his shunted hydrocephalus. Charles now attends a local day school, where he enjoys learning and interacting with his peers.
Charles is in need of school sponsorship. A sponsorship of $45 per month helps provide his tuition, uniforms, and school supplies, giving him the opportunity to continue learning, growing, and building a bright future.
